Piperazine citrate contains not less than 98.0 percent and not more than thee quivalent of 101.0 percent of tripiperazinebis (2-hydroxy-propane-1,2,3-tricarboxylate), calculated with reference to the anhydrous substance. Piperazine citrate contains avariable quantity of water. Piperazine citrate is a white granular powder, freely soluble in water, practically insoluble in alcohol. After drying at 100ˇăC to 105ˇăC, Piperazine citrate melts ata bout 190ˇăC. Piperazine citrate is used as an anthelmintic for humans and farm animals against intestinal roundworms and pinworms infection; administered orally. Piperazine Citrate is an anthelmintic of low toxicity with a high efficiency against ascarids and some other nematodes. Piperazine Citrate is indicated for the treatment and control of intestinal infections/ infestations of dogs and cats, and may be used from 2 weeks of age.
