Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), also known as butylhydroxytoluene, is a lipophilic (fat-soluble) organic compound that is primarily used as an antioxidant food additive (E number E321) as well as in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, jet fuels, rubber, petroleum products, electrical transformer oil, and embalming fluid.
It is a white crystal powder Dissolve in benzene ,Toluene,Ethyl-acetate and Gasolene,Insoluble in water and non-toxic.
It is an important all -purpose type of antioxygen widely used in material of high molecular petrolerm production and Food manufacturing industry. It is used as antioxidant in food manufacturing industry.Preventing off-colour.Oxidation and rancidity.It can be used as food packing material.
